Depression is bad

November 7, 2009 by Massie

Lately, work have been intense and I was frustrated with the fact that I am not able to spend time and effort to focus on my dream biz. It was very bad that I could feel depression creeping into my life.. u know like the black stuff in Spiderman 3.. I really do not want it to continue to envelope me further. Hence, I have decided that Saturdays will be the day I will set aside to do the necessary.

So far, two Saturdays have gone by and I have made good progress. :)

Wish me luck okie.

just some updates

May 17, 2009 by Massie

I havent been updating my blog lately. Why? Cos I feel that my life is boring. It’s the same old thing always. Work – Little Rascals – Aly and the cycle continues. Oh, but please don’t be mistaken – i am enjoying every bits of it (errr.. not so entirely on “work” though). Oh, well – the truth is I have been busy with all these 3 and has no time to update my blog. yahahhaha..

In April and early May – Alhamdulillah, we had many orders and most of them are well above $100 bucks.. so you can imagine the sheer size of our cakes. Do check out the flickr if you had not seen our latest designs. :)

So amidst all the cake-making and my nvr ending work, I totally forgot my anniversary! And, if the lady had forgotten means no dinner, no flowers, no gifts, no couple time (cos I can’t rely on the man of the house to remember the dates!) And, when I told him about the forgotten date, he went like.. “oh ya, it’s the 5th rite?”.

My quick reply to him “Oh, 5th? Who did you marry, ah?”.

Anyway, suggested a nice dinner last night and he gave me the look – oh ho… ManU game. So, he said dinner after 10 at a restaurant? Errr.. which restaurant will open till wee hours? Oh, 24 hrs sarabat/coffee shop. So romantic leh!!!!!

We ended up calling KFC at 10pm cos Aly fell asleep. So our dinner was at 1130pm. I insisted that this not our candlelight dinner! No way. :P

I like the way Google brands itself.
The way they creatively “play” with their brand image.
Adapt to different occasion and seasons!
Totally irradical and non-mainstream.
I like!

& not forgetting

Happy Mother’s Day to all the mummies out there!

Well, that includes me.

First trip to the Dentist

April 5, 2009 by Massie

Today was an early day for me – it was Aly’s first time at the dentist. Her dentist is Dr. Rashid Tahir of Kids Dentist @ Camden. Young chap (married with kids) so accomplished has made the Muslim community proud! Seriously, his clientele are from many nationalities. At least, in the 2hrs while waiting in the kiddo waiting room, I have met Korean, Indian, British families. :)

I wanted Aly’s first experience at the dentist to be a happy one. So, last night, I prepped her sharing the goodness of visiting a dentist. She then decided to launch into her detailed description of recent trip to the hospital due to high fever.. bla .. bla.. and she came to one point : Aly cried.. Aly tak nak baring. Oops.. Explained to her that at the dentist, she will have to somehow lie (even showed her while in our Tucson a 45 degrees elevation). Sigh..didnt managed to convince her. But whatever the excuses were, we still ended up at Dr Rashid’s clinic this morning.

Where’s the photos of Aly in the dentist chair??? Arrhhh.. no opportunity to take a single shot as our dear princess was wailing the moment Dr Rashid called out her name. She composed herself when he started asking about her diet, teeth brushing and the part when he took out the teeth model and start teaching her (err. including the mommy; I supposed) on the right method of brushing our teeth. I was very conscious – refrained from flashing my set of teeth to Dr Rashid in case he spotted plaque in between my front teeth. Hee.

The verdict: Dr commended on Aly’s teeth. Nice and clean.. thanks to Omah. He didnt see a need to clean any of her teeth.. Whoaa… But he did advised me to start saving $ for Aly’s braces cos her baby teeth are close to each other and that will mean difficulty for her adult teeth to grow properly. :(

We left the clinic with $70 less in my bank account but with a loot in tow. A helicopter frisbee that came right out of Dr Rashid’s treasure chest. Looks like he really knows how to win the hearts of the little ones!
