Domesticated! I seem to in this phase where I just wanna be around things which are nice, cool, pretty and preferably handmade. And I am beginning to feel that my 24hrs is simply not enuf. Always on my lappie surfing for ideas and more ideas.

I think MS has inspired me greatly. And there are really many other crafters out there. I have been talking abt wanting a space of my own – like my own work area called MY STUDIO. But until, we settle the house thingy, that will remain to be unseen.

But no harm dreaming about it rite? Came across this to die-for studio by Heather Bailey, a designer in US. She seriously has got good taste!

my hobby called little rascals

My boss mentored me today. According to her anything less that 1M Singapore dollars in 3 years is a hobby not a business. It knocked me really badly and set me thinking of what I want out of this entire thing.

A hobby? or a Business? – Back to the drawing board again, I supposed. Stay focus! But wait, what’s the goals in the first place, ah? *faint*

Molten Cake – debut attempt

It’s my first attempt to bake a cake and then… have the courage to bring it to our potluck session yesterday.. well in celebration of Vesak day

To bake or do anything crafty – mesti ikut “mood”. And despite Aly in one hand; i managed to battle through frying 20 pieces of chicken wings and also bake my molten cake. Simple ingredients is the no. 1 priority and also, no measurement by grammage cos I don’t have a weighing machine!

Recipe said to bake for 6 mins. Mrs Razim decided to be more adventurous by baking it +6 mins. The outcome: edible, moist cake but the chocolate lava didn’t flow out smoothly as expected. Well, at least it’s edible and rather presentable (although Mdm Koh said it looks like Chee Kwei) hee..

Okay, dear – i will bake a batch for you tomorrow. Forgot to take fotos of it earlier; so remind me abt it when i am done with my baking.

Life of a Baker is never easy

Let me tell you this – baking diaper cakes is as hectic as baking REAL edible cakes.

First, the ingredients – in both cases we need to shop for the right ones, right colors, right size and needless to say of the best quality and errr.. value for money!

Second, the “baking” process – takes averagely 3 hrs; and in both cases, you go through it slowly & steadily; refrain from making mistakes!

It’s not an easy process especially everytime we nip and tuck is always done with LOveeeee. We always want the best for our customers. So, Mr/Ms/Mrs customers, no bargaining and if you like the look on the face of the recipient the cake is for, you may give us tips. ;P  like our fav customer, Sarima. (thanks, Sarima).

Finished baking diaper cake last weekend for a baby boy and I have decided to call it Rubber Ducky Dub-Dub. Aly’s favourite song while taking her bath – it’s taken from her Elmo CD sang by Ernie.
