miracle makeover

November 27, 2008

My house is in a terrible mess. Diaper cakes, computers, books, magazines, ribbons, etc lying all around my house. Every room, every corner – real eyesore!

I am determined to pack everything back in its place on Saturday. I did research on the internet and came across this particular website. Real Simple.

I am really in need of a miracle makeover. Any kind souls out there to help me achieve this clean look?

Personal Goals – Dec 08

November 20, 2008

Decided that it would be a good idea to break down my goals into smaller achievable pieces – every month.

Goals to be achieved by end Dec08:

1. Drink more water – not coffee.

2. Excursion to the zoo! Oops.. must be careful of the tiger.

3. Cook at least once a weekend :P

4. Take better photos

:)

Florence Nightingale

November 17, 2008

Hallo everyone! This is Aly in the house! Convinced mama to let me post an entry in her blog. Told her that I am sure the readers would love to hear from me about myself.

Anyway, I gotta to tell you this my dear readers. Mama has been pretty insistent lately. She kept brainwashing me – this thing abt power of subconscious mind that I will be a doctor when i grow up. I simply dont understand her at all. Tsk tsk. Even baba finds her weird sometimes.

Mama bought me a doctor’s bag (or rather container). Not glam at all; no no.. not LV or Gucci. Some plastic looking container packed with gadgets that I saw at my PD. Dr Lim have used some on these gadgets on me when I visited her for my injections or when I fell ill. Awww.. Dr Lim is nice – always get free milk and sweets from her. But only after she made me cry!

Yesterday, mama dressed me up in pink (yes, to match the pink container) and made me pretend Zoe is my patient. Can someone tell my mama to grow up, please. I have to pose for the camera a zillion times. So tired. But, I love my mama, u see. So, I have to look happy and pretend that I am enjoying every bits of it. You wont be able to see the difference, trust me.

She kept saying that I look like little florence nightingale. Do I look like a bird, in the first place, ah?

Ta-Ta for now,
Aly

p/s: Aunty june, can you see your angel cake on the dining table behind me? It’s my favourite cake, you know.

Wanna cuppa coffee, anyone?

Aly & her cuzzins

November 16, 2008

I am overwhelmed everytime I see Aly having fun with her cuzzins. Never mind all those fights that they had previously. I hope to see them grow up sharing happy sweet memories and stay best of friends always.

Yes, best friends always!

Happy Birthday MIL

November 16, 2008

Celebrated my MIL’s birthday at Swensen’s last night. Let the picture speaks for itself.

Food and Friends – a good combination!

November 16, 2008

I braved another attempt in the kitchen for another potluck session.

Roasted Basil Chicken & Mashed Potato.

Pecked hubby’s cheek and chased him out of the house in the mid morning so that I can have peace aka time alone in the kitchen. So, that no one can see me panic and messed up my entire kitchen. Aha.. that’s the reason why I didnt potter around the kitchen when my maid was around.

Anyway, for the sake of upholding my promise to frens to bring something I made out of using my own hands – I did it!

Oh darn.. didnt take any pictures.. arrrgghhhh…. So, please imagine it turned out well. It did, I think. I could not bring myself to have a piece of the white meat. Scared… hahahah.. but if Junie and JJ said ok, means ok lor.. (errr.. altho JJ has to eat my chicken breast with chocolate:P)

But most important thing yesterday was sharing time with my good frens – it’s not the food right, everyone? We miss each other loads.. Our friendship goes years back and I am thankful that it has survived the test of time.

To Linda, pat-pat, rest well and look for a new one okie. Wish you all the best :)

To Junie, next time please wear more comfy clothes so that you can help finish the food! Otherwise, next time Nisa will have to resort to let you wear her sarong..hee

To JJ, will automatically toast any bread served in future cos Your Highness never failed to ask for it. Lunch, next week oKie.

To Phoebe aka our early retired turned Tai Tai.. please continue to do your window shopping and hop over to town for lunch with me.

To Nisa, errr no.. her mum for the just-nice egg yolk in the Shabsuka. Yummy! Ok, to Nisa.. thank you for the nice pot of tea to keep us going while we chat.

To Arshad, thanks for changing our plates and filling up our drinks. You got the traits of a gd restaurant manager. May want to consider switching career. hahah

To Reb, you missed loads of fun. I know deep inside you would rather join us yesterday. Alas, work is always the culprit right? Hmm.. what can we do to this creature called WORK. Always disrupting our fun times. Hmmm

And last but not least, to my hubby, for all the nonsensical things you sprout when we girls are busy talking. But you made it up when I get to share your proposal moments to the rest. Nah nah…hahahah

Purpose in Life

November 11, 2008

What’s my purpose in life?  What is it that I want to achieve in life?

Can’t seem to be able to find the answer at this point in time. Looks like I have not been putting much thoughts on this important vision.

There are so many things that is running through my mind right now. I need to declutter. I need to pen it down, seriously.  I will be back soon to share what’s my purpose in life in the next few days.

How bout you? What’s your purpose in life-ever thought abt it?

And, I am sure she’s the fella fully satisfied last night when I rewarded her for being a good girl throughout the spree with not one, but two scoops of gelato ice-cream. Yummy!

New perspective through photography

November 9, 2008

Lately, I have been surrounded by delightful images and pictures. (thanks to my good frens like Rshut, Nisa, Lee Fong and Rebecca (okie not Becca; it’s my team lead back in office))

And yes, my many meetings with the team from BBDO. You should hear them - art direction, scamp, inspirational shots, photoshoots.. hahah.. i felt so lost initially.

Anyway, my boss were sharing with me about how one can see a new perspective in life through a piece of lens. And, she suggested that I buy a good camera with my AWS! *wink* Yaay.. I will have my full month AWS now although prorated la.

So, it’s a toss between a camera and save-them-all!!

Hmm.. let me see. It’s definitely not an easy choice.

Maybe I can get someone else to buy me the camera … and I can get to save my AWS.

:P
